We began Lent this year with a special Lent Assembly prepared by Ms. Kennedy and her Grade 2 students. We learned of the significance of these 40 days and all that we can do to prepare our hearts during this time leading to Easter.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
On Wednesday, April 13, Ms. Ramirez's Grade 5 students led our school through an in-person Stations of the Cross at the church. As a school we recalled, meditated, and prayed as we followed the path of Christ's Passion.
HOLY THURSDAY SCHOOL RETREAT
On Thursday, April 14, our Grade 7 class, under the direction of Ms. O’Hara and with the assistance of Mrs. Patzer and Ms. Moffat, led the entire school community in a day of worship.
Our retreat was presented with profound reverence by our Grade 7 students and then explored more deeply at each grade level in our classrooms between sessions.
It was an overwhelmingly beautiful and transformative day of witness to our faith with almost 500 people in attendance on zoom at school, from the parish, and from home. Holy Thursday Retreat, among many school events, affirms our identify as a Catholic school! What a blessed faith community we have here at St. Augustine School!
