Principal's Message

Dear St. Augustine Parents,

Our 50 days of Easter celebration continues as we begin the month of Mary. To extend our Easter celebration and this blessed month into your homes, may I suggest that you say a Hail Mary as part of your Grace Before Meals when you gather together as a family at the dinner table or encourage your children to include it in their daily prayers.  Can your family say a Hail Mary every day in the month of May?

I would like to express my gratitude for our entire community.  If I don't say it enough, THANK YOU!  Thank you for the grace and love and support and determination you have all shown over the last year.  Thank you, parents, students, teachers, education assistants, support staff, guardians, and caregivers!  You have been and continue to be amazing!

The month of May is packed with many activities. Track & Field season is in full swing with practices every day and another track meet mid-month.  Thank you to all staff and parents who made badminton and happen last month!  Grades 6 and 7 classes will return to a 4-day Outdoor Education stay at Camp Jubiliee this month, and our Kindergarten to Grade 4 classes will be celebrating "outdoor ed" activities back at the school, and Grade 5s will enjoy a day trip to Camp Jubilee!  We also have a small school concert for you!   Stay tuned as your teachers and staff continue to plan and communicate what this penultimate month of the year will look like.

Happy Easter and wishing all mothers a very Happy Mothers’ Day, as well!  God bless!

Congratulations to our Grade 2 students who will be celebrating their First Holy Communion Saturday, May 6!  May you receive all the blessings of Christ on your special day!

MAY 10 - CROWNING OF MARY ASSEMBLY
Please, join us Wednesday, May 10 at 9:15am for our school assembly which will be held at the church. Ms. Brunnock's Grade 1 class will be hosting the Crowning of Mary.  We hope you can all join us in this month of May when we celebrate our blessed mother:

MAY 12 - SCHOOL CONCERT (9:30AM AND 1:15PM)

Unlike last year's production of our school MUSICAL, on alternate years, we hold a much smaller, simpler production.  This year, on Friday, May 12, we will be holding a school concert to which you are all invited.  There will be two performances:  the Primary performance (Grades K-3) at 9:30am and the Intermediate performance (Grades 4-7) at 1:15pm.  There will be simple colour assignments for each grade; however, if you are not able to find the colour assinged to your child's grade, then dark bottoms and a white top will work very well, too.  Each class will be singing two songs each, with some musical instruments in the upper grades.  Parents who will be attending are asked to park in the neighbourhood and walk to campus for the concert.

NO SCHOOL, MONDAY, MAY 22 (VICTORIA DAY)

Monday, May 22 is Victoria Day. School will be closed on this day.

NO SCHOOL, MONDAY, MAY 29 (PLANNING DAY)

Monday, May 29 is  a Professional Development Day. School will be closed on this day.
