October 14 to October 18, 2019
Happy Thanksgiving, St. Augustine families! We have so much to be grateful for. Thank you to all your children and everyone who participated in our Walkathon Friday. It was a wonderful event! Thank you also to our parent coordinator, Catherine Lee, as well as all the staff and parent volunteers without whom the Walkathon would not be a success!
Enjoy and add your own photos to our shared WALKATHON 2019 PHOTO ALBUM!
EMERGENCY EVACUATION AND STUDENT RELEASE DRILL
(Wednesday, Oct. 16)
Thank you to all who returned their Student Release
Forms by the due date.
Here again are the PROTOCOLS for the drill:
HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL FOR THE MISSIONS
This is one of the most anticipated days on the St. Augustine School Calendar. On this day, students come in costume and have time in the gym to play games, win tickets, and choose prizes from the prize table (books, toys, games and treats).
Please, send $3.00 for 'admission' to the carnival. In addition, please, have all children bring money for games and activities in the form of dimes, quarters, and loonies totalling no more than $5.00. Please ensure that all money is brought in a sealed baggie, wallet, or container with your child's name on it. Games/activities cost 25 cents each. If your child has extra money left over, this may be donated. All proceeds collected from the day will be given to the Holy Childhood Association.
TREATS: In the past, many students have prepared individual treats to handout to classmates at school. While Halloween is an occasion to celebrate with treats, we are encouraging anyone who chooses to send treats to school this day to, please, consider sending non-consumable treats or, if consumable, healthy options instead. We will try to minimize the amount of sugary treats at the carnival, and we ask that you, please, also do the same by limiting the amount that is sent from home on that day. After school trick-or-treating will provide more than enough treats for our children.
