THANK YOU TEA
Our annual Valentine Thank You Tea provides the perfect opportunity for our students to thank their parents for all that they do for them. Students served coffee, tea, and treats to their parents and offered them a flower and card to show their love. The Tea also gives the parents time to gather with their friends and spend time together. We were delighted with the turn out and noted that almost all of the students had a parent, grandparent or other family member there for them.
We would like to thank all the staff members who helped to set up or prepare the tea and the grade 7 students who helped host in the gym. Thank you, parents, for your continued support and unwavering commitment to St. Augustine School!
Please, upload your favourite photos to our shared photo album found here: SAS VALENTINE'S THANK YOU TEA 2020
*A special thank you to Peter Kim at Timbertrain Coffee Roasters for providing the coffee for our event.
At the annual Catholic Educators' Conference, teachers are celebrated for their years of service in the CISVA. Last week, at the CEC, three of our St. Augustine staff were recognized for their commitment and devotion to Catholic education. Congratulations to Mrs. Moffat and Mrs. Vales for 25 years of service and to Ms. O'Hara for 40 years of service! We are blessed to have you as part of our St. Augustine family! Thank you for all you have done and for all you continue to do for the school, parish, and the children who are blessed to have you as their teachers!
St. Augustine School welcomed back 1Vibe Productions into its Physical & Health Education classes over a period of two weeks as part of a dance and movement unit for all grades. Each class learned a dance routine which the students then presented to the school and their parents. It was a celebration of multiple themes as 1Vibe marked its tenth anniversary; each class dressed and danced to various songs and styles through the ages. We are all so very proud of our students, not only for their incredible Hip Hop performances, but for their courage, confidence, and collaborative spirit to perform as a group in front of an audience! Well done!
A special thank you to Bien Matute and Raymond Chow for capturing these moments on camera. Many parents took photos at our assembly, and if you would like to contribute some to our shared album, follow the link to the album here: SAS Hip Hop 2020.

PARENT PUB NIGHT/ REGISTRATION EVENING
February 27, 2020
A reminder, please, to mark your calendar and ensure that at least one parent from your family is able to attend our annual PEC AGM and Re-registration Evening Thursday, February 27. You are asked to return your completed re-registration package at the Parish Education Committee AGM. Doors will open at 6:30pm and the meeting will begin at 7:00pm. There will be important updates, including updates from Faith & Foundation, as well as from our Parish/School the Broadway Subway Project Advisory Committee.
PARENT PUB NIGHT! We are excited once again to hold a Parent Pub Night with our AGM this year. Immediately after the AGM, parents and parishioners are invited to join us in the school for a community building evening surrounded by friends, food, music, and a cash bar. Drinks will be sold by donation, and all proceeds of the evening will support our Parish Refugee Programme. We would love it if everyone could come join us after the AGM to continue to build community. In fact, the Gatare family supported by our Parish Refugee Programme will be in attendance at the event. Make the evening a DATE NIGHT and join us!
In order to get a sense of numbers, please, fill out this form so we can make necessary arrangements to set up for the evening: PARENT PUB NIGHT SIGN-UP.
