St. Augustine School
Architectural Services Expression of Interest
The St Augustine School building committee is requesting Expressions of Interest for the provision of Architectural Services for a new school building on the site of the existing school in Vancouver.
St Augustine is a coed elementary school in the catholic independent school system with students from kindergarten to grade 7. Fund raising is underway for a new school. It is the intent of the building committee to retain an architect to assist with preliminary planning and building layout. The resulting design drawings will be used by the committee, forming part of a submission to the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Once funding goals for the new school have been achieved, it is our intent that the architect will be retained for complete design services. The current building committee is made up of St. Augustine’s Church parishioners including an engineer and architect.
The proposed approximate 3,000 gsm building may be constructed in two phases. During phase one, part of the existing school will remain occupied.
Submissions should include the following:
Introduction:
Provide an overall summary of the proponent’s response.
Roles and qualifications & samples of work:
Description of previous project experience in delivering similar scope of work to validate ability to achieve the desired outcome. Specifically provide:

related background and qualifications
description of roles/ responsibilities
list of relevant projects
two (2) references with contact information
For each example of past experience summarize (one page max):

Include in these descriptions direct comment as to the strengths and capabilities proponent brings to this opportunity.
Team Composition: Organizational chart of the team proposed to complete the project. Define the role of each team member, and the level of effort and commitment each member will provide to the project as a percentage of total effort required for the work. Note that this is a request for EOI for architectural work only and as such the team is not to include other fields.
Methodology & Design Philosophy: Generalized outline of the proposed methodology and design philosophy relevant to the building type. (Design work is not being requested here).
Following receipt of the Expressions of Interest, the committee will short-list 2 to 4 firms based on specific evaluation criteria as outlined below. These firms will be contacted by February 2, 2010 and asked to submit a detailed proposal.
Interested architectural firms are invited to submit their Expression of Interest for this project by 3:00 pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2010. We ask that you submit one (1) electronic copy via email to construction@faithandfoundation.com.
Submissions should be no longer than a 20 page pdf.
